The 1921 Census
The 1921 Census was released on 1st January 2022, and I am now able to access this for you to find out what your Ancestors were doing in the first half of the Twentieth Century. This may be the link you need to start your Family Tree!
The example above shows my own family. There have been a couple of additions since the 1911 census, so that we can now see how long each child spends in school and whether their parents are alive or not. This last can be very helpful when we see a child who is not recorded alongside their parents for any reason or who has a step-parent.
In this instance, we can also tie the information in the census to a photograph which must have been taken only a year or so later. Here we can see the five children (and their dog) pictured in their father's orchard.
